God, Jesus & the Saints v. Lucifer, Satan, the Devil, the Ancient Serpent, the Dragon

God is Love. God is good. Everything God creates is good, is created for a good purpose, and that purpose is to make love possible. So what, then, is sin and evil? Sin and evil go against God’s good purposes. God is also the Creator. Lucifer – the fallen archangel who became the Tempter, the Adversary, the Accuser, and the Devil, Satan – cannot create anything new, so he only tries to attack, destroy, and tear down what is good, right, just, honorable, godly.

John 10:10 – The Thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy; but I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly.
John 8:44 – You are of your father, the Devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a Murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, because he is a Liar and the father of lies.
Lucifer tempts Eve in Genesis 3:1-6 and tempts Jesus in Matthew 4:1-11.

Isaiah 14:12-17 – How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! … For thou hast said in thine heart, “I will ascend into heaven! I will exalt my throne above the stars of God! … I will ascend above the heights of the clouds! I will be like the Most High! (KJV) [JHK Note: This is the sin of pride or hubris. (See also Ezekiel 28:11-17.) True nobility lies not in being superior to others, but in becoming superior to one’s former self.]

Luke 10:18 – Jesus says, I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

Revelation 12:7-12 – Michael and his angels fought with the Dragon. The Dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail … so the great Dragon was cast out, that Serpent of old called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world. He was cast to the Earth and his angels were cast out with him … the Accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God. [For more on Lucifer as Adversary and Accuser, see Job 1:6-12 & Job 2:1-7.]

Jude 6 – The angels did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode. [This is the sin of leaving one’s proper position, as a woman trying to be a man.]

Luke 22:3 & John 13:27 – After receiving the piece of bread, Satan entered into Judas Iscariot. [Satan also wants to “sift Peter like wheat” in Luke 22:31-32.]

Revelation 12:1-6 – “Another sign appeared in heaven: a great, fiery red Dragon. … His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the Earth.” [JHK Note: One-third of the angels fell with Lucifer, and these fallen angels are known as demons, which often possess humans, torturing them and causing them to hurt other people.

*  For further examples of demon possession, see Matthew 8:28-34, 9:32-34, 17:14-21, Mark 1:21-28, and Luke 11:24-26, 13:10-17.]
